Currently we are all booked for Spring 2017. Please contact us in July regarding the 2017-2018 academic year. We are still accepting bookings for summer 2017.
Organized groups (ages 5 and up) require advanced reservations. (Individuals and families can just walk-in for free during our regular hours for a self-guided visit, but the collections are off-limits for browsing.) The guided tours include an exploration of the collection (butterflies), the "Oh My!" collection, and our Arthropod Petting Zoo. If you need a more tailored tour, please let us know at the time of booking. Tours cost $4.00 per person or a minimum of $40.00. (Fees do not apply for standard UCD classes and organizations.) Tours are typically 30-60 min.
To start booking a tour call the Bohart at (530) 752-0493 or send us an e-mail under contact us. Include your name, contact information, size of group, and several possible tour dates.
Because of the size of the museum, we can handle only around 20 people at once. Larger groups will be divided into smaller groups. Group leaders may want to consider visiting other campus sites in conjunction with a Bohart Museum visit. This University Outreach website has additional options.
Can’t bring your group to the Bohart? Call to inquire about a visit to your location. The cost is $125 for the program's first hour and $75 dollars for every hour thereafter. Travel fees are included. Programs can last 20-75 min. depending on your needs. We bring specimens from the collection as well as live arthropods so that it is informative and interactive.
We can travel Monday-Friday 9 am - 5 pm, but rarely we are able to accommodate a weekend or evening request. We can also tailor the program based on your individual situation, so contact us to discuss the options.
Invite us to your festival, science day or back-to-school event. The cost is $100 for the first hour (traveling fees and prep time included) and $50 for each additional hour. We will bring Oh My! drawers, live insects and our enthusiasm and knowledge.
