Services
The Bohart Museum houses one of the largest systematic entomology resources in the
United States. It is a resource for taxonomic, genomic and biodiversity studies
worldwide.
Tours: Tours of the Bohart Museum, featuring a
walk down Butterfly Aisle, the "Oh My!" collection, and the Arthropod Petting Zoo
are available for schools (kindergarten and up) and other organized groups of 10
or more.
Traveling Exhibits: Loans The museum provides
specimens and library materials to scientists and students throughout the world
through loans and visits. More than 40,000 specimens are loaned out for research
per year. Through the study of our collection on site and elsewhere, researchers
are able to describe new species, identify relationships among species and understand
the global diversity of insects.
Internships: Internships program for credit,
for a research project, or to fulfill volunteer requirements for current UC Davis
Students
Identification & Diagnosis: Official Identification,
Diagnosis, and Report For official business, such as governmental and private businesses,
medical professionals, or anyone requiring written documentation, we offer identification
and diagnostic services on a fee-for-service basis. Fees for these services are
based on urgency and volume.
