The Bohart Museum is one of four collaborating collections on the Davis campus who have been awarded a grant from the International Cooperative Biodiversity Groups. This is a 5-year project, titled Biodiversity Surveys in Indonesia and Discovery of Health and Energy Solutions. Find out more

Algodones Dunes, CA

A survey of the insects of the Algodones Dunes for the US Bureau of Land Management. We have collected nearly 1,500 insect species. So far 35 of these are new to science. Amazingly in this hostile environment of heat and little water, a large number of insects not only survive but thrive.

BeeNet

A project to database bee collections in the US. It is funded by the National Science Foundation and headed by scientists at AMNH and UC Riverside. With over 300,000 specimens in our bee collection, the Bohart is a partner in this project.

CalBug

A project to database insects collected at University of California Reserve Sites. Headed by the UC Berkeley Essig Museum of Entomology, the project aims to database over 1 million specimens across several California collections. The data will then be used to track environmental changes caused by human activities and climate change. Find out more
